One of the most warm and enchanting rooms within the Congress Plaza Hotel property is also one of our signature spaces. The Gold Room is an architectural gem originally built between 1902 and 1907 during the construction of the South Tower of the hotel.
Long considered one of the most magnificent banquet rooms in America, the Gold Room was restored in 1997 to its original splendor by Italian artist Lido Lippi, known for his work in the Sistine Chapel restoration. Through these efforts, this sought-after space retains its lush, grand atmosphere making it the perfect choice for any formal or elegant event.
The shimmering gold leaf that adorns every corner of the room gives The Gold Room its moniker. With broad walls and an arched ceiling raised fifty feet above the floor, the room is rich with Italian Renaissance style and splendor. One of the first vaulted ceilings to be supported without pillars frames the beautiful ceiling mural by artist William Dodge, and classic architectural moldings add a touch of elegant detail to the corners and sides of each wall.
Under the twinkling illumination of gorgeous cluster lighting throughout the gallery, guests will fall under the spell of this magical and inviting atmosphere. A truly decadent and luxurious space fit for an unforgettable special event.
